Bourke Road, Alexandria
Before construction started this out dated and under-utilised 1970s beige brick building on Bourke Road in the heart of Alexandria consisted of basic ground floor warehousing and a large betting agency on the 1st Floor. The site had to be stripped back to its bare minimum in order to transform it to an exciting, creative office, multiple showrooms and restaurants.
The usage of industrial finishes, an abundance of detailed panelling and joinery coupled with cleverly designed lighting ensure the building is bathed in light and makes an impact from the moment you step inside the foyer right through to the rooms housing the internal electrics. Use of steel within the building was not simply structural. It takes effort to make something look effortless.
Winner 2016 MBA Excellence In Construction Award Refurbishment / Renovation / Extension $5,000,001 to $10,000,000 for 110-116 Bourke Road Alexandria
Due to the craftsmanship of the installation and design it forms an architecturally stunning work running throughout the building from the common areas to the partitioning of tenancies right to the very top of the Skillion Roof and surrounding the pivotal 13metre long Skylight. This steel frame forms an integral part of the whole building. Marrying up steel with the existing structure, ensuring the structure was held up and at the same time ensuring the stainless and structural steel linked seamlessly.
